Having always been drawn to children and also interested in the workings of the mind, I completed my B.A. Honours Degree in Psychology with a minor in Family and Child Studies and went onto work in early childhood education. Here, I discovered my love of helping children with special needs and then completed a post-graduate certificate in Early Childhood Education: Advanced Studies in Special Needs at Humber College. This led to employment as a Resource Teacher for preschool children, which is where I was introduced to the field of Speech-Language Pathology and given the opportunity to collaborate with SLPs and participate in therapy. I immediately knew that this was exactly what I wanted to do! I made a life changing decision to return to school and pursue my dream. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Communicative Disorders and Sciences from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York.

Initially starting out on a part-time basis with S.L. Hunter SpeechWorks, it was not long before I joined the team full-time. In addition to working with children with a wide variety of diagnoses and difficulties, my scope grew to include the adult population. The work I do is extremely fulfilling, whether it be helping a child develop the complex motor movements required for speech or supporting individuals with brain injury throughout their rehabilitation. As I further my career and season my skills and areas of focus, I am passionate and excited to continue my professional journey supporting clients and their individualized needs, goals and development.
