From a young age, Lauren knew that she wanted to be a Speech-Language Pathologist. From her own experiences to family experiences, speech therapy has always been a part of her life.  In adolescence, she took the initiative to learn more about the field and began volunteering with her school's literacy program, as well as various allied healthcare organizations to gain more experience.

Lauren completed her B.A. (Hons) in Speech and Language Sciences from Brock University in 2016 and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from McMaster University in 2019. Prior to joining the SpeechWorks team, Lauren had the pleasure to work extensively with First Nations communities in Northwestern Ontario providing culturally-safe and trauma-informed care. Her experience working in the North has shaped the way she practices today. From structuring therapy goals to providing assessment and treatment methods, she always considers the cultural and linguistic requests and needs of her clients. Lauren has a particular passion for learning more about the impact that culture has on communication development at a young age.
