Concussion Care

Therapy for concussion is just like therapy for traumatic brain injury. Remember, a concussion is actually a form of mild traumatic brain injury. Although most concussions resolve in a few days to weeks, some people have symptoms that persist past 3 months (Post-Concussion Syndrome) which may require some help to recover. 

The therapy for concussion will focus on skills training, strategy use, and education in order to help with any difficulties you may be having with memory, attention, understanding, communicating, reading/writing, problem solving, planning or organizing.

First they conduct a comprehensive assessment using formal or informal tools to evaluate skills. Next, they create a personalized treatment plan designed to rebuild, reroute, or reorganize affected skill areas in order to help you return to your activities of daily life and the things you love.
